ISO has published the second edition of ISO 50001 standard which contains the requirements and guidelines for the energy management system (ISO 50001: 2018 - Requirements with guidance for use).
Certainly the most significant change is the long-awaited alignment with current ISO/ IEC directives, including common text, terms and application of high-level structure (HLA). The new edition carries content changes in the chapter "Terms and definitions", which now includes nearly twice as many terms (40, of which as many as 18 new ones, including: improving energy performance, static factors, relevant variables, normalization and an energy performance indicator (EnPI value )), but also changes in content closely related to energy management..
